While fairly new to the United States, acupuncture has been an essential part of Chinese medicine for thousands of years. Why? Because it works, often, where other approaches to treatment have failed. It is extraordinarily effective at treating a wide variety of conditions, including:
- stress, anxiety, depression,
- pain syndromes,
- fibromyalgia, CFS, lyme disease,
- cold/flu symptoms,
- menopause, menstrual disorders (including cramps, PMS, anovulation, endometriosis, amenorrhea),
- infertility,
- insomnia,
- migraines and headaches,
- addictions, and
- a variety of digestive disorders such as Crone’s and IBS.
Because acupuncture is highly-effective as a primary or complimentary treatment for many "gray-area" conditions, it has become one of the fastest growing, mainstream, complimentary-medicine treaments sought today.
But, what about the needles? While, acupuncture uses needles as an essential part of the treament, these needles are so fine, akin to the thickness of a hair, that you will likely barely even feel them. And, of course, each needle is kept in its own sterile packaging before use. In fact, the treatment is often so deeply-relaxing that many people who arrive in search of relief from discomfort leave in a state that has been described by many of our patients as "blissed-out beyond belief."
Initial Treatments require approximately 1.5 hours so that a comprehensive evaluation can be completed prior to the acupuncture treatment. Follow up visits are generally approximately 1 hour.
